Volcanic Ash Disruption
In view of the current disruption caused by the volcanic ash cloud, we thought it would be helpful to outline the position our underwriters (Axiom Underwriting Agency Ltd) have taken in respect of the cover provided under the Harrison Beaumont Travel Insurance policy.
Extended cover period:
If, as result of the disruption, your trip continues beyond the agreed period of cover under your policy, cover will be automatically extended until your return home.
Below is a brief summary of the position under the relevant sections of your policy:
If at the start of your covered trip you are delayed for in excess of 24 hours you have the option to cancel your trip and claim up to £3,000 for irrecoverable deposits or charges and accommodation costs, which you have already paid or are contractually liable to pay.
We recognise that individual circumstances may differ and so the above is intended as a guide only. Each case will be looked at on an individual basis so it is important that you read the full terms & conditions of your policy wording before submitting a claim.
Note: Until further notice, there will be no cover in respect of volcanic ash for trips booked after the disruption started on 15th April 2010
